Nearly a decade in real estate.

Melker Eckerström’s background spans commercial property, asset management, transactions and residential property operations.

When he co-founded his current property company, the ambition was straightforward: own good buildings for the long term and become unusually good at running them.

That meant better documentation, better information and better maintenance decisions. It also meant using technology wherever it could make the operation work better.

The company started by buying software. Some systems worked well and stayed. Others didn’t quite fit the way the company wanted to operate.

At the same time, Eckerström had been following AI closely since it became widely available.

The realisation was not that AI would matter. It was that the value would sit with people who already knew a field well enough to see what to build in it.

For him, that field was real estate.

What followed was a gradual move from using AI to building with it: internal systems, workflows, automations and, increasingly, software designed around the properties the company actually operates.

RENAVID grew from that work.

Background / 2017—now

1. 2017Age 23

   Joined the family property business

   Eckerström began working in the family’s commercial property company, focused primarily on logistics and industrial real estate in central Sweden.

2. 2019Age 25

   CEO

   ~55,000 sqm

   At 25, he became CEO of the company, with responsibility for a portfolio of approximately 55,000 sqm.

3. 2022Age 28

   Portfolio sale

   Led the sale of the property portfolio and subsequently joined the acquiring listed property company.

4. 2024Age 30

   Owner-operator

   Co-founded a residential property company focused on long-term ownership. The portfolio later became the real-world operating environment behind RENAVID.

5. 2024Age 30

   Kneippen Företagspark

   ~20,000 sqm

   Developing, together with partners, a former industrial site of approximately 20,000 sqm into a modern, energy-efficient environment for light industry, services and offices.

6. 2026Age 32

   RENAVID

   Founded RENAVID out of the systems and methods being developed inside the property operation.
